PHILOSOPHY

ABOUT ME

My name is Adriana Pereira and I have been a Registered Massage Therapist since 2021. I attended Western University in London, Ontario where I completed my Bachelor's Degree in Health Sciences. I specialized in Rehabilitation Sciences which eventually led me to Massage Therapy. I graduated from the Massage Therapy program at Fanshawe College in London, Ontario, and completed my CMTO certification exams and registration in 2021.

With my educational background and hands-on experience, I am here to help you achieve the goals you are looking for. I like to incorporate a variety of pressures and techniques into my treatments, including general Swedish massage, trigger point therapy, fascial therapy, joint mobilizations and stretching.

I moved to St. Thomas with my Fiancé in 2021 from London, ON. When I am not at work, you can find me reading, doing yoga, spending time with my friends and family, or hiking with my dog, Finn.

CUPPING THERAPY
WHAT TO EXPECT

Cupping Therapy involves placing silicone cups on the skin to create suction in order to increase blood flow to a targeted area. It can help reduce muscle tension, increase range of motion, decrease pain & swelling, fascial restrictions, promote circulation & more. Many patients see an increase in benefits when they add cupping their massage treatment.

If you are a new patient, please check your email and complete your Intake Form prior to your appointment. If you are unable to do so, please arrive 5-10 minutes prior to your appointment time and we will have you fill it out in the clinic.

Your initial treatment includes a 10-15 minute assessment prior to the treatment. (Example: If you book a 60-Minute Initial Treatment, expect a 10-15 minute assessment followed by a 45 minute Treatment).

Your RMT will review your health history form with you and ask you any relevant questions. They will then perform an assessment of any conditions and areas of the body that relate to your focus for treatment.

The RMT will discuss the anticipated goals, outcomes, any potential side effects/risks, and your treatment plan with you.

You will then be instructed on how to prepare for treatment. The RMT will leave the room as you get positioned on the table. They will wash their hands and return to begin your treatment.

  • Cancellation/No Show Policy: A late cancellation or missed visit leaves a gap in the therapist's day which makes it difficult to fill with short notice. As such, we require 24 hours notice for any cancellations or changes to your appointment. Clients who provide less than 24 hours notice, or miss their appointment, will be charged a cancellation fee of 50% of the treatment cost. This amount cannot be billed to your insurance.

  • If you are going to be late, please call or email. Your treatment may be shortened depending on scheduling. You will still be required to pay for the appointment you originally scheduled.

  • Inappropriate behaviour will not be tolerated and will result in termination of the therapeutic relationship without refund.

  • A health history must be filled out and a consent form signed at your initial appointment. An accurate health history is important for making an effective treatment plan and for identifying any risks or precautions.

  • Please arrive no earlier than 5-10 minutes before your scheduled appointment time.
